Background
Developed brand concepts for a new housing development in Athenry, positioning it as modern, elegant living for young families in a desirable Galway location.
Challenge
Create an identity that felt refined and contemporary while remaining warm, approachable, and family focused.
Solution
Explored multiple visual directions using modern typography and sophisticated colour palettes. The selected fern concept connected directly to the development’s name (“land of the fern”), resulting in a brand that feels rooted, contemporary, and well positioned for its audience.
The fern emblem has been designed to feel sophisticated and elegant, reflecting the meaning of Fearann na hEasrach, which translates to “land of the fern.” This is complemented by a modern, refined sans-serif typeface paired with a serif that conveys quality and sophistication, while a restrained palette of navy and gold tones reinforces a sense of elegance and refined luxury.

The clean, geometric house forms symbolise modern living, while the gentle flowing lines beneath reference Athenry’s surrounding fields and rolling landscape. Combined, these elements anchor the development in its natural context and express a calm, family-oriented atmosphere. This is supported by a modern, refined sans-serif typeface that communicates quality and sophistication, alongside a navy and gold colour palette that conveys elegance and a sense of refined luxury.

North Gate Arch is a well-known landmark, and incorporating it into the logo creates an immediate and meaningful connection to Athenry. This is supported by a refined modern serif paired with a clean sans-serif typeface, communicating quality and sophistication, while a deep green colour palette complemented by soft gold evokes elegance and a sense of refined luxury.
